Lycopersicon Esculentum: Tomatoes 

What can't you do with tomatoes?


Highly recognised and loved flora. Wonderful in salads, sandwiches, soups, sauces, curries, I could go on.. 
Here's a favourite.



Tomato Chutney


Ingredients: 
1kg Tomatoes, peeled and chopped
750g Cooking Apples; peeled, cored and chopped
375g Sugar
250g Onions, chopped
250g Raisins
1 Green Pepper, chopped
Ground Ginger and Salt to taste
350ml Cider Vinegar

Put all ingredients into a large saucepan and boil for around 45 minutes until fruit is tender and sauce thickened. Leave to cool, then transfer to serialised jar.
